I love to draw and work with a model, these figure pieces display my fascination with that illusive and relative edge where the figure visually meets her surroundings and the translucency of human flesh that reflects the ambient colours and light making the figure and background one.

The Self Portrait: It’s all in the Genes series features the faces of 49 blood relatives taken from an archive of family photographs dating back to 1870.  Wherever possible, photographs of the young in their late teens were used, forging the links between the generations.  Although a very personal project, this series highlights the value of family photographs as an historical documentation in this digital age where such images are numerous and expendable.  The remaining pieces are also generated from the family archives.
