These works address and question the tapestry of topics and issues that make up our world.
This is Our Cry is inspired by the Shinto tradition of “Ema”. 1,000 plagues each with the word “peace” written in many different languages and scripts that are to be hung on a prepared structure or on a wall covered by a black and white computer cut vinyl image of an atomic bomb explosion.
On a Wing and Prayer: Inspired by “ormikuji” and Gromagi Prayer Sticks, each contains a wish, a wish for peace.
We are but Dust & Shadow 3 foot square intaglio prints of “shadows”, an aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, are folded into paper cranes; a symbol of peace and hope.
